Biography

Dr. Xiang Q. Werdich is a medical retina specialist and comprehensive ophthalmologist. She provides comprehensive eye care with expertise in retinal diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal inflammatory diseases and inherited retinal degenerations, and she is also a surgeon who does intravitreal injections, retinal laser procedures, photodynamic therapies, and cataract surgeries.

She holds a PhD in cell and developmental biology, and her dissertation was focused on retinal neovascularization and anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) therapy. She completed an ophthalmology residency at Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute and subspecialty training in medical retina at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, UK and inherited retinal degenerations and pediatric medical retina at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary (MEEI) and Boston Children’s Hospital
