Biography

My expertise is in the area of lipid biosynthesis and metabolism and how they relate to human disease. My laboratory uses molecular biology, lipid chemistry & analysis, protein chemistry and forward genetics (mutant isolation).
We have recently developed a cell-based, high-throughput protocol to screen small molecule libraries for inhibitors of animal cell phospholipid biosynthesis. We have identified several candidate compounds and are now characterizing their efficacy and mode(s) of action.
