Biography

Dr. Nicole M. Jackson is a family physician who is driven by her interests in the care for the underserved, medical education, maternal-child health, women’s health, health equity and organizational change. Dr. Nicole Jackson completed her medical education at Harvard Medical School and her family medicine residency at Boston Medical Center. Her primary academic interest is in diversity and inclusion. She serves as the Director of Diversity Programs in the Department of Family Medicine at Boston Medical Center, where she strives to create a safe, supportive, diverse and inclusive environment for residents and faculty in the department. She chairs the Committee of Equity and Inclusion in the department, as well as the Subcommittee on Diversity Recruitment, Retention & Vitality. She also serves on the Diversity & Inclusion Advisory Council as part of BUMG’s Office of Equity, Vitality and Inclusion. Dr. Jackson’s current interests include serving as a resource for underrepresented minority (URM) applicants during residency recruitment season; improving strategies for URM resident and faculty recruitment and retention; supporting resident and faculty development with regard to structural racism and their effect on institutional culture and patient care; and collaborating within and outside the department on diversity and inclusion work.
