Biography
Matthew Leidl, MD is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine. He received his undergraduate degree from Boston College Following this, he spent a year serving with Generations Incorporated, a non-profit organization that offers literacy tutoring to school children. He then earned his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine. He went on to perform an internship in Internal Medicine at SUNY Upstate, where he was named Intern of the Year. He completed his Ophthalmology residency training at Nassau University Medical Center. After this, he spent an additional year training as a Glaucoma specialist at the West Virginia University Eye Institute.
He currently provides medical and surgical care to patients at Boston Medical Center, the Boston University Eye Associates offices in Brockton and Middleboro, and the VA in Jamaica Plain, with particular interests in the management of glaucoma and cataracts. He is also very interested in medical education and is actively involved in lecturing and teaching medical and optometry students as well as ophthalmology residents and fellows about glaucoma and other ocular diseases.
