Biography
Keegan L. McDonnell, MS, CRNA, is an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) at Boston Medical Center. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of New Hampshire and her Master of Science in Nursing (MS) from Boston College, graduating magna cum laude from both institutions.
With over a decade of clinical experience, Ms. McDonnell specializes in anesthesia care across a variety of surgical settings, including cardiovascular and trauma procedures. Since 2019, she has served as Co-Lead CRNA at Boston Medical Center and practices at New England Baptist Hospital. Her prior roles include CRNA positions at Anaesthesia Associates of Massachusetts and Houston Methodist’s DeBakey Cardiovascular Center, as well as registered nursing in the Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit at Duke University Medical Center. Her research contributions include a case report on fluid warmer safety published in the Journal of Clinical Monitoring and Computing.
Ms. McDonnell is a dedicated educator, providing clinical training to student registered nurse anesthetists and medical students in the operating room. She is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and holds certifications in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support from the American Heart Association, as well as national CRNA certification.
