Biography

Jin Wei, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and a Principal Investigator in the Department of Medicine Nephrology Section. Dr. Wei received over a decade of training in cardiovascular and renal physiology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine, spanning his doctoral, post-doctoral, and early faculty years. During the training period, his research was supported by the American Society of Nephrology Ben J. Lipps Postdoctoral Fellowship and Carl W. Gottschalk Transition to Independence Research Scholar Grant. In 2023, Dr. Wei joined Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and established his independent research laboratory in the Department of Medicine Nephrology Section. Dr. Wei’s laboratory investigates pathogenetic mechanisms and therapeutic targets in cardiovascular and renal diseases, with a particular focus on hypertension, preeclampsia and cardiorenal syndrome. His research program is supported by an NIH/NHLBI R01 grant and an American Heart Association Transformational Project Award.
