H. E. Stanley, PhD

Professor, Boston University College of Arts and Sciences

Biography

Dr. Stanley is a William Fairfield Warren Distinguished Professor and works in collaboration with students and colleagues in an attempt to understand the puzzles of interdisciplinary science. Currently his main focus is understanding the anomalous behavior of liquid water in bulk, nanoconfined, and biological environments. He has also worked on a range of other topics in complex systems, such as quantifying correlations among the constituents of the Alzheimer brain, quantifying fluctuations in noncoding and coding DNA sequences, and interbeat intervals of the healthy and diseased heart.
