Biography
Denise Wong is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at BU Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. She is a clinician educator interested in undergraduate and graduate medical education. Her clinical practice is in endocrinology, with a focus in weight management and nutrition, diabetes, and general endocrinology.
At BU Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, she serves as an Academy Medical Educator, teaching and advising medical students throughout their years of medical school. She is also the elective director for two 4th year electives: Internal Medicine Ambulatory Elective and Obesity and Nutrition Support Elective, where she has incorporated novel interprofessional experiences. Dr. Wong is also a Field Specific Advisor for medical students applying to internal medicine residency. For graduate medical education, Dr. Wong serves as the Obesity Medicine Fellowship Program Director. She is actively involved in shaping national Obesity Medicine fellowship curriculum as a part of the Obesity Medicine Fellowship Council. She is also a core faculty member for the Endocrinology, Diabetes and Nutrition Fellowship. Her roles echo her interests in medical education, curriculum development, and interprofessional education.
For her contributions to the Boston University Medical Group mission clinical work, Dr. Wong was inducted to the BUMG Clinical Excellence Society in 2024.
