Biography
Danne C. Elbers, PhD serves as the Associate Director for Data Engineering and Bioinformatics in the Cooperative Studies Program Informatics Center at the VA Boston Healthcare System. In this capacity, she has focused on building a learning healthcare system through translating research workflows, algorithms and outcomes into clinical care utilizing the VA’s large clinical, genomic, and imaging databases.
Her research portfolio includes sharing clinical, genomic, and imaging data through the Precision Oncology Data Repository and Cancer Moonshot efforts; establishing robust internal application infrastructure that enables clinician-facing applications and, translating research outcomes back into the clinic in accordance with learning healthcare system principles.
Recently, she received the Federal Women’s Empowerment award, underscoring her efforts in creating a strong engineering in research environment.
