Human Subject Research

The Office of Human Research Affairs (OHRA) is responsible for the oversight of human research at Boston Medical Center and the three schools on the Boston University Medical Campus (Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, Public Health, and Goldman School of Dental Medicine) to ensure that we meet the ethical and regulatory expectations. OHRA accomplishes this through its robust Human Research Protection Program (HRPP).

The two main elements of the HRPP are:

• Institutional Review Board (IRB) which must review and approve all human studies, and
• Clinical Research Resources Office (CRRO) offers an array of investigator educational programs.
