The Faculty Affairs Office is pleased to announce that Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine Kelly Mayo, MD, has been named Distinguished Faculty of the Month for July.

Mayo joined the Medical Campus community in 2011 as a medical student at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian SOM. She then completed an emergency medicine residency and fellowship in emergency medicine ultrasound at Boston Medical Center. She joined the faculty in 2020 and has served as the emergency medicine clerkship director since that time. She teaches preclinical students in the Advanced Integration Module and Transitional Clerkship. She also acts as a co-advisor for the Emergency Medicine Interest Group and serves on several institutional and departmental committees.  

Her nominators say, “Dr. Mayo’s infectious enthusiasm for learning inspires students and peers to want to work harder and learn more.

“She’s always full of ideas and ready to work on a project.

“Dr. Mayo threads the needle when dealing with different personalities with grace.”
