Diana Anderson, MD, MArch, assistant professor of neurology, has been selected by the American College of Healthcare Architects (ACHA) to serve on the Council of Fellows.
Rhoda Au, PhD, MBA, professor of anatomy & neurobiology, received the 2023 Melvin R. Goodes Prize for Excellence in Alzheimer’s Drug Development from the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation (ADDF) for her pioneering work with digital biomarkers.
Sabrina A. Assoumou, MD, MPH, the inaugural Louis W. Sullivan, MD, Professor of Medicine, and an associate professor of medicine, has been selected to serve in the 2024-2026 cohort of New Voices in Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine at the National Academies.
Richard K. Babayan, MD, professor emeritus and former chair of the department of urology, received the 2024 Robert C. Flanigan Education Award from the American Urological Association (AUA).
Megan Bair-Merritt, MD, MSCE, professor of pediatrics, has been accepted into the Executive Leadership in Health Care program.
Marielle Baldwin, MD, assistant professor of medicine, has been selected as the Suffolk District Medical Society’s 2024 Community Clinician of the Year. Additionally, Baldwin was the inaugural recipient of the Massachusetts Medical Society’s Barbara A. Rockett, MD, Early Career Physician Leadership Award.
Emelia J. Benjamin, MD, ScM, professor of medicine in the section of cardiovascular medicine, received the 2024 Honorary Fellow of the American Society for Preventive Cardiology award. She also received the Distinguished Alumni/ae Award (MD) from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) and the American Heart Association’s Louis B. Russell Jr. Memorial Award.
Thomas Clarke, PhD, assistant professor of pathology & laboratory medicine, received the Karin Grunebaum Faculty Fellowship.
Vladimir A. Botchkarev, MD, PhD, research associate professor of dermatology, received the Skin Ageing & Challenges Best Scientific Award for 2023.
Hollis Day, MD, associate professor of medicine, was selected by MedEdPORTAL to be a mentor in the inaugural MedEdPORTAL Faculty Scholars program. In addition, she delivered the Distinguished Professor in Geriatrics keynote lecture at the annual Society of General Internal Medicine meeting and also was accepted into Hedwig van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine program.
Kate Flewelling, MLIS, director of the Alumni Medical Library, has been elected to serve a three-year term on the board of directors of the Medical Library Association.
Xinning (Tiger) Li, MD: Was chosen as an ABC (American British Canadian) Traveling Fellow by the American Orthopaedic Association.
Terence M. Keane, PhD, professor of psychiatry and clinical psychology, received the 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Division of Trauma Psychology of the American Psychological Association.
Anthony John Mell, MD, MBA, assistant professor of pediatrics, received the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Oley Valley Community Education Foundation.
Sali Merjanah, MD, assistant professor of medicine, received a Distinguished Fellow Award from the American College of Rheumatology and the Association of Rheumatology Professionals Membership and Awards Committee.
Thanh N. Nguyen, MD, professor of neurology, radiology and neurosurgery, has been elected President of the Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology (SVIN). She is the first woman to serve in this role in its 17-year history.
Elizabeth N. Pearce, MD, MSc, professor of medicine, received the Distinguished Service Award from the American Thyroid Association.
Priscilla J. Slanetz, MD, MPH, professor of radiology, received the 2023 Honored Educator Award from the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA).
Jorge A. Soto, MD, professor radiology, has been elected to the Radiological Society of North America Board of Directors as the liaison for international affairs. The seven-year term includes five years as liaison for international affairs; in the sixth year he will be board chair, and in the seventh year he will serve as president of the society.
Carl Streed, Jr., MD, associate professor of medicine, was named one of 40 Under 40 Public Health Catalyst Award winners for 2023.
Andrew W. Taylor, PhD, associate dean for research, has been re-elected to the steering committee of the Association of American Medical College’s Group on Research Advancement and Development (GRAND) to serve through 2026.
Paul Tornetta III, MD, PhD, chair and professor of orthopaedic surgery, will serve as the president of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons for 2024-2025. He also received “Distinguished Clinician Educator” award by the American Orthopaedic Association.
Richard Vezina, MPH, associate director of the Slone Epidemiology Center, received BU’s 2024 John S. Perkins Awards for Distinguished Service.
Sushrut S. Waikar, MD, MPH, the Norman G. Levinsky Professor of Medicine, has been elected to the American Society for Clinical Investigation (ASCI).
Julie White, MS, CHCP, director of the Barry M. Manuel Center for Continuing Education, was inducted as a fellow in the Society for Academic Continuing Medical Education.
Stephen A. Wilson, MD, MPH, professor and chair of family medicine, was elected to the board of directors of the American Board of Family Medicine.
