Ricardo Cruz, MD, MPH, MA, and Shamaila Khan, PhD, each have been recognized for addressing and improving diversity and a culture of inclusion, equity and accessibility throughout the school community.
The annual award honors an outstanding educator and acknowledges the importance of teaching skills and commitment to students and education.
This award is presented to faculty demonstrating outstanding compassion in the delivery of care, respect for patients, their families and health-care colleagues, as well as clinical excellence.
This year’s recipients are Molly Cohen Osher, MD, MMedEd; Christine Cary Cheston, MD; William Lehman, PhD; Jeffrey L. Browning, PhD, and Vanessa Villamarin, MD.
Barbara Fifield Brandt, PhD, EdM, campaigned for the recognition for two years.
His nominators say, “Andy provides outstanding service to the research core…He consistently demonstrates the utmost professionalism.”
Her nominators said, “Dr. Bockstall is an exemplary educator, who gives above and beyond to help her students, residents and fellows excel at learning.”
