With more than 18,000 enrollees since 2002, many people are already experiencing the health benefits of DASH, which include improved blood pressure, fewer heart attacks and strokes, and a reduced risk of diabetes and cancer. DASH for health is open to BU faculty and staff and up to three adult household members. After enrolling, participants monitor progress by logging onto their “My Stuff” page, which tracks weight, diet, blood pressure, and daily exercise routines. The section also creates weekly meal suggestions and recipes (including vegetarian options), offers a servings tutorial and shopping-list creator.

Now in his latest work, Dr. Moore provides readers with methods to promote healthy weight loss. Integrated into the book are real life success stories, easy-to-follow meal plans, and strategies for overcoming frequently encountered challenges such as “emotional eating.”

For the second year in a row, DASH received the #1 overall ranking in U.S. News and World Report’s annual “Best Diets.” Dr. Moore said of his work, “this is a weight-loss diet of satisfying, real foods that you can stick to for the long-term.”
