Ravid Named Director of New Evans Center
Katya Ravid, DSc, PhD, professor of biochemistry and medicine has accepted the position of director of the Evans Center for Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research effective March 1, 2009. Dr. Ravid is internationally known for her work in platelet biology and the definition of intracellular pathways that mediate platelet development and vascular function. She serves on a number of journal editorial boards and review panels, and has been the recipient of several awards including the recent prestigious Visiting Scholar Award from Sydney University.
In her role as director, Dr. Ravid will lead the Center’s efforts in promoting affinity research collaboratives (ARCs) with the goal of developing new interdisciplinary paradigms of scientific discovery and training by faculty and trainees from across departments and campuses of Boston University. Additional information about the governance, resources, and strategies of the Center will be forthcoming soon.
