Tips and Resources

The medical curriculum is fast paced and it is very common to have to adjust your study habits. Ask for help early from your course directors and the Office of Academic Enhancement.

Keep track of assignments and go to class prepared

Make a study schedule and stick to it. Limit distractions and focus on the task at hand by staying away from social media, email and texting during the day.

Utilize your learning team or find a study group. Working together is excellent way to discuss material and retain information.

Set a time aside once each day to check your email for important school announcements.

Get involved in school activities, service learning or groups, but be selective by focusing your interests

Manage expectations of your family and friends.

Eat well, sleep well, and exercise.

Do not isolate yourself, set up your support group friends and family, OSA Deans, advisors, and colleagues.

Make a budget and stick to it. Student Financial Services can help with this.
