Biography

Dr. Weber served as Chief Medical Officer at Cochlear Americas and was Professor and Director of Otology/Neurotology at University of Massachusetts Medical School. In previous roles, he was head of the Otology-Neurotology Department and Co-Director of the Hearing Implant Program at the Cleveland Clinic. He was also Acting Chairman in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina. He has served on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and is past President of the Board of Governors for Otolaryngology.Dr. Weber received BS and MS degrees in engineering from Washington University and his medical degree from Albany Medical College. He completed his residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, a fellowship in Neurotology at the University of Iowa, and received an MBA degree from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. Dr. Weber has published over 100 articles in peer reviewed literature, written three books, multiple book chapters and has led several National Institutes of Health sponsored research studies. He also currently serves as editor-in-chief of the American Journal of Otolaryngology. His clinical interests include: surgery for pediatric and adult ear disease including cochlear implants; implantable hearing aids; infectious cholesteatomas; acoustic neuromas; ear tumors; skull bone lesions; facial nerve disorders and vertigo.
