Biography

Maureen K. O’Connor, Psy.D., ABPP-CN received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2002. She completed her Pre-Doctoral training in Neuropsychology at the Yale University School of Medicine, Connecticut Mental Health Center and Gaylord Rehabilitation Hospital, a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the New York Presbyterian Hospital and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center of Cornell Weil Medical College, and a two-year Advanced Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the Bedford Veterans Administration Medical Center and Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine.
She is Board Certified in Clinical Neuropsychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology, and is a reviewer for the journals: Cognitive Neuroscience, Aging and Mental Health, Dementia and Geriatric Cognitive Disorders, Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology, Disability and Rehabilitation, and the Journal of Clinical Psychology. She is widely published in Neuropsychology in peer reviewed journals, books and book chapters and has made numerous talks and professional presentations on a wide range of topics in Neuropsychology.
In 2006 she was the recipient of a New Investigator Research Grant from the National Alzheimer's Association designed to study the impact of caregiver training on managing neuropsychiatric symptoms in dementia. In 2014 she received a Research, Rehabilitation, and Development SPiRE Award to study the impact of an intervention designed to educate older adults about brain aging and dementia and lifestyle factors that contribute to brain aging. In addition to her ongoing research activities, Dr. O'Connor continues to evaluate and treat individuals with memory loss while teaching doctoral students, interns, and residents in neuropsychology.
