Biography

Margaret S Lee, MD, PhD is an Assistant Professor and the Director of Pediatric Dermatology at the Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine. She has earned awards for her teaching, innovation, and merit in the medical field, including the Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine Distinguished Faculty Award and Boston Top Doctors Award for the past several years. She also directs the BU Dermatology Wellness & Professional Vitality Program and coaches as a member of the Professionalism Resource Service. She is a member of multiple professional societies including the Society for Pediatric Dermatology, Pediatric Dermatology Research Alliance, and the International Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies, and American Academy of Dermatology. Her research focuses on psychosocial health in pediatric dermatology, patient education and empowerment, atopic dermatitis and vascular anomalies (especially in context of patient advocacy). Dr. Lee founded the nonprofit Comfortable In Our Skin, whose mission is to help young people of all appearances and abilities achieve their full potential by fostering peer support and “celebrating unity in diversity.” As a medical student she also co-founded the Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine Creative Arts Society and its literary journal, Whorl.
