Biography
Dr. Comeau is an assistant professor in family medicine and director of the primary care sports medicine fellowship. Doug attended medical school at UNECOM in Biddeford, ME. Doug completed his family medicine residency at Tufts University, where he was administrative chief resident during his third year, and then completed a primary care sports medicine fellowship at Wake Forest University, where he served as a team physician for Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem State University, and the North Carolina School of the Arts. He joined the Department of Family Medicine at BMC in July 2007, where he worked in the Ambulatory Care Center in Family Medicine and in the Doctor’s Office Building in the Department of Orthopedics. Doug currently serves as the medical director for sports medicine and practices at the Ryan Center for Sports Medicine on Boston University’s Charles River campus, seeing both primary care and sports medicine patients. In addition, Doug serves as head team physician at Boston University and one of the team physicians at Boston College. His special interests in medicine are osteopathic manipulation and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries. Doug is an avid Boston sports fan and also enjoys golf and entertainment. He and his wife, Rainelle, currently reside in Melrose and enjoying time with their daughter Charlotte.
