Alexis Gallardo Foreman, NP is a Nurse Practitioner and Assistant Professor of Pulmonology, Allergy, Sleep, and Critical Care Medicine at Boston Medical Center/ Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine. Her work has focused on reducing Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) readmissions hospital-wide through the creation of educational resources for inhaler teaching and nicotine replacement therapies for patients at the bedside and post-discharge. She is a member of the Sleep team and provides care to patients struggling with acute on chronic respiratory failure, insomnia, sleep apnea, and other sleep disorders. She is a trained tobacco cessation specialist and works alongside the Tobacco Cessation Team at BMC, counseling patients towards their goal of quitting smoking. Alexis has a Master’s in Intercultural Relations from Lesley University and a background in writing training programs to promote cultural awareness among healthcare providers. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Nursing degrees from Regis College and has worked in various clinical settings in the Greater Boston Area. She recently returned to school for her Doctorate in Nursing degree to further her interest in research on how to rehabilitate patients suffering from long-COVID. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and a member of the Massachusetts Coalition of Nurse Practitioners.
