Early Decision

Early Decision at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine is a binding early decision program and is typically reserved for candidates affiliated with a prearranged linkage program or those with extraordinarily strong academic records as well as some special or extenuating circumstance.  Those applicants who believe they fall into the latter category are asked to contact the Office of Admissions via email (medadms@bu.edu) and provide a summary of their academic credentials (GPA and MCAT) as well as a description, in writing, of the circumstances motivating their desire to apply to BUSM early decision.  Candidates should be aware that an early decision application at BUSM prevents application to any other medical schools until a final decision is reached, which may be as late as October 1 of the application year.  The Admissions Office will review the information provided and if appropriate, schedule a phone conversation with the Associate Dean for Admissions to discuss the situation further.  All other applicants are encouraged to apply via AMCAS during the regular application cycle.
