Rachel Thompson, MD, Awarded June Distinguished Faculty of the Month

The Faculty Affairs Office is pleased to announce that Rachel W. Thompson, MD is June’s Distinguished Faculty of the Month.

An assistant professor of pediatrics, Thompson has directed the pediatric clerkship for the past seven years, during which time she has revamped the curriculum and core experience. She also provides faculty leadership to the Pediatric Interest Group, which received the Pediatric Interest Group of the year Award from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) for its excellence in interest group programming and involvement in the Section on Medical Students, Residents and Fellowship Trainees (SOMSRFT). A field specific advisor, she advises approximately 20 medical students each year.

Thompson received her bachelor’s degree from Harvard University and medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in pediatrics at the Boston Combined Residency Program in Pediatrics and a fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine from Boston Children’s Hospital.
