Alumni, Faculty and Students “Wine Down After Rounds”

Hiebert Lounge glistened under party lights and buzzed with BUSM community members at the annual Wine Down After Rounds mixer held this week. The event, established in 2017, invites medical students to interact with faculty and alumni to learn about different career pathways through conversations and connections. Nearly 130 students attended, along with 50 alumni, faculty and guests.

“We are happy to host this event and thank the students for inviting alumni to participate,” said Associate Dean for Alumni Affairs Jean Ramsey, MD ’90, MPH ’08. “Alumni appreciate the opportunity to meet with students and share their experiences in their subspecialty and practice. It was an enjoyable time for all.”

Chase Kahn, ’20, helped plan the first-ever Wine Down event in 2017, and after attending this year’s event, noted: “My favorite thing about the event is not just seeing how Wine Down has continued and is becoming a tradition, but how incredibly it has evolved and brings out how special our BUSM community truly is. I can’t wait to return in the future as an alumnus!”

“Thank you to all the alumni and students for making this event so successful! It’s comforting knowing that we’re still able to prioritize each other with the little time we do have. I hope we will continue to strengthen our BUSM community in future years to come,” said SCOMSA Social Chairperson Mymy Nguyen, ’23.
