Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) is the only national honor medical society, and it is organized exclusively for educational purposes. Its aims are the promotion of scholarship and research in medical schools, the encouragement of high standards of character and conduct among medical students and graduates, and the recognition of high attainment in medical sciences, practice, and related fields. Max Vaickus, graduated Masters Student – May 2017, receiving his Travel Award for his Young Investigator’s Presentation at the 40th Annual Conference on Shock this past June down in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Max’s talk was titled: “Augmented Pseudomonas aeruginosa clearance occurs through mild traumatic brain injury induced gene expression changes”
