    Pathology Resident, Weiwei Shi, MD was awarded a Resident Travel Scholarship for the ASCP Annual Meeting in Chicago for September to present his abstract poster, “Intravascular leiomyomatosis: an unusual case of inferior vena caval (IVC) filter involvement”

    Dr. Barbara Nikolajczyk will join the University of Kentucky on Oct 1 2017 as Associate Director of Translational Science in the Barnstable Brown Diabetes and Obesity Research Center, and Associate Professor of Pharmacology and Nutritional Sciences

    Sandra Cerda, MD is the new Secretary for the NEW ENGLAND SOCIETY OF PATHOLOGISTS, INC.

    Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) is the only national honor medical society, and it is organized exclusively for educational purposes. Its aims are the promotion of scholarship and research in medical schools, the encouragement of high standards of character and conduct among medical students and graduates, and the recognition of high attainment in medical sciences, practice, and related fields. Its motto is: “Be worthy to serve the suffering.” We look forward to the students participating in an energetic Chapter that is a vital part of our campus. A formal induction ceremony will be held in the spring; meanwhile, please join us in congratulating the inductees.     Max Vaickus, graduated Masters Student – May 2017, receiving his Travel Award for his Young Investigator’s Presentation at the 40th Annual Conference on Shock this past June down in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.  Max’s talk was titled: “Augmented Pseudomonas aeruginosa clearance occurs through mild traumatic brain injury induced gene expression changes”
