Target Audience: Faculty, Students, Residents, Greater Boston Scientific Community (advertised in MIT’s Bulletin).

At the conclusion of this activity participants will be able to: 1) state that little evidence is available regarding the physiological effects of exposure to electronic cigarette (ECIG) aerosol.; 2) distinguish that the use of tobacco cigarettes (TCIG) remains the leading preventable cause of death in the United States, responsible for more than 480,000 deaths per year (CDC, 2014); and 3) recognize that the data suggests that ECIG aerosol can induce gene-expression changes in bronchial airway epithelium in vitro, some of which are shared with TCIG smoke.
