At the conclusion of this activity participants will be able to: 1) state that inflammation and innate immunity have been implicated in Alzheimer’s disease; 2) recall that similar to brain development, we found that complement signaling appears to play an important role in synaptic and neuronal health and function during aging and Alzheimer’s disease; and 3) report that  more data is needed to better understand how immunity and inflammation contribute to neurodegeneration and/or rate of progression and to identify new therapies targeting these pathways.
