Demystifying ChatGPT: Using ChatGPT to Supplement Library Resources in Biomedical Research

Carly Schanock, MLIS

ChatGPT is an AI tool that has raised questions about how it can appropriately be used in research. Despite ethical concerns, AI cannot be kept out of the classroom or medical research. This session aims to deconstruct misconceptions held by faculty, staff, and students about ChatGPT and demonstrate how it can be used as a supplement to existing library resources. Participants will learn the ways ChatGPT can help perform medical research, along with the limitations it has as a natural language processing tool.

The speaker will be virtual, but participants who want to socialize can gather in R112 (Dean’s Conference Room).
