The Skin Oncology Program provides comprehensive care for patients with pigmented lesions, and/or melanomas, including education, counseling, surgical treatment and adjuvant therapy if needed. All melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers patients are followed regularly in the Skin Oncology clinics.
The Skin Oncology Program also provides specialized expertise and care for patients with cutaneous lymphoproliferative disorders or cutaneous lymphomas, including education, diagnosis, staging, treatment (single and combination therapies) and extracorporeal photopheresis. Extracorporeal photopheresis is a FDA approved treatment for cutaneous T-cell lymphoma patients. The Skin Oncology Program has been providing these treatments to patients in Boston, for over a decade and recently acquired the newest technology, 2 new UVAR XTS photopheresis instruments: These new instruments minimize side effects and decrease the total treatment time.
