Biography

Dr. Salem is a graduate of Saint Louis University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in biology. She obtained her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine before earning her certificate in periodontology and Master of Medical Science in oral biology from Harvard University School of Dental Medicine.

In 2014, Dr. Salem became a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. During her master’s training, she completed her thesis on implant-related bone augmentation, as well as published and reviewed research articles in reputable dental journals. In addition, she is certified in Wilckodontics®, a technique that helps to accelerate the time needed for orthodontics.

Dr. Salem finds being active in the community crucial as a healthcare professional. She organized and ran oral cancer screenings at the Tobin Community Center in Roxbury. Internationally, she participated in dental mission trips serving Syrian refugees in the Middle-East. Furthermore, she taught the hygiene students at Forsyth Institute of Dental Hygiene, pre-doctoral students at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, and is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine.
