Dr. Salem is a graduate of Saint Louis University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in biology. She obtained her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine before earning her certificate in periodontology and Master of Medical Science in oral biology from Harvard University School of Dental Medicine.
In 2014, Dr. Salem became a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. During her master’s training, she completed her thesis on implant-related bone augmentation, as well as published and reviewed research articles in reputable dental journals. In addition, she is certified in Wilckodontics®, a technique that helps to accelerate the time needed for orthodontics.
Dr. Salem is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the International Team for Implantology, the Academy of Osteointegration, the American Dental Association, and the Massachusetts Dental Society.
Dr. Salem finds being active in the community crucial as a healthcare professional. In the past few years, she organized and ran oral cancer screenings at the Tobin Community Center in Roxbury. She also taught the hygiene students at Forsyth Institute of Dental Hygiene, pre-doctoral students at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, and is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine.
