Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is the most prevalent mental health challenge faced by our Veterans. Boston University is leading the nation’s research and clinical efforts related to PTSD, conducting ground-breaking studies on assessment, treatment, comorbidity, neuroimaging, genomics, and gender differences in PTSD.
Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine is a major affiliate of the VA Boston Health care System (VABHS), the major tertiary care center for the New England Region and home to the National Center for PTSD. For more than a quarter of a century, the National Center for PTSD has conducted research that has formed the scientific foundation for PTSD, and has lead clinical education programs that are training BU students, residents, and subspecialty fellows in this important area.
