Wendy Kuohung Awarded Prematurity Research Grant

COM_kuohung_wendyAssociate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology Wendy Kuohung, MD, has received a grant from AMAG Pharmaceuticals Prematurity Research Grants Program to study progesterone effects on the oral microbiome and the impact on preterm birth. She is one of five researchers selected by an independent external review panel of maternal fetal medicine specialists and an obstetrician.

The five grants given by AMAG, which total $300,000, fund research aimed at reducing premature birth and improving the health of neonates and infants in the United States . Kuohung is also director of the reproductive endocrinology and infertility program at Boston Medical Center.
