Summer Sessions
Offered periodically in the summer months of July and August, these sessions are focused on practical learning with an emphasis on real-life examples and demonstrations when applicable. Generally these sessions will each be one 2-hour session and will not be offered on a regular recurring basis. Previous sessions are available for viewing.

- Gain understanding through experiential learning through examples, case studies, and hands-on activities

2023 Summer Sessions
Multi-Site Studies: Exponentially More Work and More Fun Than Single-Site Studies
Attendees will learn best practices and for successful multi-site study management including staffing and communications, documentation, and IRB review and reliance. Using a mix of presentations and case study review, this session will include recommendations for feasibility and site selection, startup, and active enrollment. Designed for both investigators and research staff, all are welcome to attend. Both in-person and remote participation in this session is available.

- Learn how to apply best practices in single-site management to multi-site management
- Identify challenges and techniques for addressing them in multi-site study management
Everything You Always Wanted to Know But Were Afraid to Ask: A Focus on Study Documents
Attendees will review the various types of study documents and best practices for developing and managing them. Using a mix of presentations and live demonstrations, this session will include recommendations for protocols, consents, and various logs and forms. Designed specifically for research staff, all are welcome to attend including investigators. Both in-person and remote participation in this session is available. In-person attendees are recommended to bring a laptop to build their own forms during this session.

- Identify the types of essential documents for successful study management and execution
- Learn best practices for developing and formatting study documents that can be applied to protocols, consents, and various essential documents including forms and logs
- Demonstrate document management techniques that can lead to successful IRB submissions and study compliance
