About Us
The Boston Nutrition Obesity Research Center (BNORC) is funded by the NIH National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Disease. BNORC is a consortium of institutions that includes Boston Medical Center, Boston University School of Medicine, Tufts University, Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging, the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. The Center’s Cores, Pilot and Feasibility Program and Enrichment programs promote inter- and multi-disciplinary research in nutrition and obesity. The Center’s Pilot and Feasibility Program has helped support many promising early career investigators who have gone on to exceptionally successful scientific careers.
Objectives
1) Facilitate and support the conduct of cutting edge basic and translational research in the fields of nutrition and obesity science in the Boston area with the long term goal of promoting optimal health throughout the lifespan.
2) Contribute to and help coordinate utilization of resources that enrich the education and training of investigators, be they new to the field or established investigators from other fields, in order to promote the conduct of transdisciplinary nutrition and obesity research.
