What about Us? The Impact of Caring for Ourselves, While Caring for Others

We have spoken more recently about the burnout and mental health impact of working in healthcare, but we haven’t often looked at its’ impact on us, mental health professionals. This talk will define the terms moral injury and burnout, and describe the impact of COVID-19 on our existing poor baseline. It will discuss the barriers getting help in medical culture, include self-stigma, and along with data and some tangible tips, Dr. Gold will discuss her own experience as a burned out burn out expert.
