Community engagement and participatory research approaches have been identified as a strategy for advancing health equity. This presentation will explore how structural racism serves to impede participatory research approaches and organizational change strategies for advancing the work.

    1. Describe CBPR and its origins.
    2. Articulate how dominant ideology shapes organizational practice and creates structures which impede community engagement and participatory research approaches.
    3. Identify strategies to advance community research partnerships and to resist.
