Ricardo Munarriz, MD
Dr. Munarriz is an Associate Professor of Urology at Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. Munarriz earned his medical degree from the Luis Razetti School of Medicine, Universidad Central de Venezuela in 1991 and received his general surgery and urologic training at Boston University School of Medicine. In July 2000, Dr. Munarriz was awarded the very prestigious American Foundation for Urologic Disease M.D. Research Scholar Fellowship and the Bayer Urology Fellowship in Sexual Medicine. Dr. Munarriz has co-authored more than 150 peer reviewed papers and chapters in both male and female sexual dysfunction in addition to his clinical practice. His research interests include male, female, transgender medicine and surgical education.
Dr. Munarriz is the Director of the Center of Sexual Medicine, of Urologic Research and the fellowship in Sexual, Reproductive and transgender Medicine at Boston Medical Center.
Dr. Munarriz is the current President of The Society of Prosthetic Urologic Surgeons and member of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America (SMSNA), the International Research Impotence Society (ISSM), American Urologic Association (AUA), American Medical Association (AMA), and a member of the editorial Board of the Journal Current Health reports in Urology and the Journal of Andrology.
