Dr. Marc Lenburg and colleagues in the Computational Biomedicine section have been engaged in a multiyear effort to understand biomarkers of premalignant lesions, indolent and progressive lung cancers in both never-smokers and smokers. Airway brushings provide a relatively noninvasive way to collect cells for detailed genetic and genomic analysis.
