RESEARCH INTERESTS

Research interests include studying the factors that contribute to the exacerbation of human disease with the hope of modulating disease through either lifestyle changes or through the development of specifically targeted therapeutics.  Current area of research involves investigating the detrimental effects of binge drinking on allergic asthma, and studying the mechanism(s) through which this may occur

PRESENTATIONS

  • Poster at this year’s Experimental Biology Conference.  The title is “Binge drinking rapidly triggers asthma-like pulmonary inflammation in cockroach-allergen sensitized mice.”  It will be presented in the poster session entitled “Inflammation and Immunopathology” Sunday, April 10, 2011
  • Oral presentation.  Jacqueline Bouchard, Louis Vaickus, Jiyoun Kim, Daniel Remick. “Binge drinking exacerbates asthmatic-like pulmonary inflammation in cockroach-allergen (CRA) induced allergic mice.”  Presented at the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology on April 24th and 28th, 2010
  • Poster presentation.  Jacqueline Bouchard, Jiyoun Kim, Louis Vaickus, Daniel Remick. “Acute ethanol exposure aggravates cockroach-allergen (CRA) induced asthmatic responses.”  Presented at the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology, April 2009.
