Alumni Resources

Since 2016, we have made substantial changes to increase the financial support of our MD/PhD students. Since 2023 students receive tuition, stipend and health insurance and we thank Dean Atman for this support. Our students must write NIH grants with a high percentage receiving funding. This gives them important skills for future proposals and helps their research. Students who are in their MED4 year often mentor first year MD/PhD students through the doctoring class and co-teach the MD800 transition course. Students continue to achieve AOA (nine students in the last eight years), publish in top tier peer-reviewed journals, and some have ventured successfully into biotechnology. They have initiated and participated in the organization and hosting of three New England-based American Physician Scientists Association (APSA) meetings. These advances effectively support our students to enter the most competitive residency programs, and an increasing number chose research residencies to foster growth and professional development.

While we have increased support, needs come up and our goal is to ensure equity in our student body and improve our program by enabling all students to attend workshops, conferences, and external rotations without their encountering financial burden. Funds may also assist for unexpected needs. To achieve this target, we created the MD/PhD Alumni Fund for the benefit of our students.  To support our student-centered mission, please visit our donation website below. Contributions of any size will be greatly appreciated and 100% of your generosity supports our students.

We are delighted to have trained so many of you and hope that you will support the dreams of the next generation of physician scientists behind you.

With best regards,
