Brain Tissue Repository

This Core, formally established in 1997, is co-led by Ann McKee, MD, and Thor Stein, MD, PhD, and carefully characterizes and performs neuropathological examination of brains obtained through the Brain Donation Program.

They use digital and biochemical quantification to provide objective and precise measures of neurodegenerations including amyloid and tau pathology as well as traditional pathological and semi-quantitative measures.

Digital Pathology Library – cellular phenotypes

Quantitated the density of immunopositive cells (IBA-1+ microglia, CD68+ microglia, AT8+ neurofibrillary tangles) within the sulcal depth of dorsolateral frontal cortex using the Aperio ScanScope.

On Campus Server Storage

Have dedicated 100TB of server space for image storage. No cap on upgrading storage space when needed. Fully backed up. 1GB connection line for fast data transfer.
