Research Interest

My research is focused on the use of single cell resolution transcriptomics to identify unique bronchial epithelial subpopulations present in the airways of lung cancer patients. This also involves the characterization of short- and long-term effects of cigarette smoking on epithelial subsets lining the airways of current and former smokers in an effort to understand cellular transitions occurring during smoking-associated disease pathogenesis.

Additional interests include understanding the long-term molecular consequences of cigarette smoking on airway epithelial differentiation and repair as well as the design and implementation of novel approaches to massively multiplexed low input RNA sequencing.
