Thermo-Fisher Scientific LTQ-Orbitrap XL

This instrument system was installed in January 2007, funded in part through the S10 program (S10RR020946, J. Zaia, P.I.) and the P41 Research Resource program (P41RR10888, C. E. Costello, P.I.)

The LTQ-Orbitrap is a hybrid linear ion trap with a high resolution Orbitrap detection system. It is interfaced with a Waters Nanoacquity UPLC system and an Advion Triversa Nanomate robot.

The system is used to meet the needs of a group of NIH-funded research projects on the BU medical campus. Approximately 50% of its time is devoted to proteomics and post-translational modification proteomics, and 50% to glycomics projects.
