Student Residence, What You Can’t See from the Outside

As you look down Albany Street at the student residence you’ll notice that the entrance canopy and the first floor storefront windows have been installed. The curtain walls, the decorative glass façades, on south and west sides are complete. The curbing for the adjacent park and the driveway entry to the building is also underway.photo (1) exterior web

Two model units are under construction, an ADA-compliant suite and a standard suite. There is one ADA suite on each floor of the building. All units will have two bedrooms, one bath, a common area and a kitchen. There are slight variations in the apartment floor plans depending on location within the building. The laundry room is located in the basement and residents will be able to check washer and dryer availability remotely via the web. In addition, the front door security entry system will be accessible by mobile phone.

Both Boston Water and Sewer and National Grid (natural gas) services are now connected. Security systems have been roughed-in and data and voice cables are being installed. Temporary heat is being provided on all floors with the exception of the first floor and the stairwells. Rough work on the plumbing is completed and electrical service has been roughed-in all floors except for the first.

The freight elevator is now running and the passenger elevator should be running within a week. Work continues on all of the residential floors including installation of drywall, millwork, floor tiling, ceiling work and carpeting.
