Research Training

Trainees complete a scholarly project as part of their fellowship training.  Fellow applicants are encouraged to choose the area of concentration (below) that is consistent with their interests. Please examine the academic profiles of our faculty to identify potential mentors you would like to meet during your interview.

For fellows interested in a research-based academic career – either clinical or bench research – we believe three years of training (i.e., at least one year beyond the core 2-year ID fellowship) is a minimal requirement to begin an independent research career. Early identification of mentors will allow us to explore options for funding beyond the second year.
