The Grunebaum Faculty Research Fellowship

The Grunebaum Faculty Research Fellowship, a BUSM annual faculty award, provides $25,000 in total funds to a selected faculty member for a period of one year. In addition, upon request, the Karin Grunebaum Cancer Research Foundation will separately provide up to $1,500 for the selected faculty member to travel to seminars and conventions related to their research.

Candidates must be a Boston University School of Medicine faculty member who is in the first 5 years of a faculty appointment in laboratory or translational research in cancer.  Eligible faculty must work in BUSM space and awards must be managed through BU.  The previous year’s Grunebaum Faculty Research Fellowship Awardee may apply for a second year and will be evaluated in competition with the other submitted applications.

The recipient will be expected to meet with the Trustees of the Karin Grunebaum Cancer Research Foundation (in Boston) at the start of their Fellowship and at its conclusion, to provide the Trustees with reports on the status of their research.  This year’s recipient will be expected to attend the Trustee meeting at BUSM on Friday, June 8th. All research publications benefiting from these funds must credit the Karin Grunebaum Cancer Research Foundation.

Please contact Donna Gibson, Cancer Center Administrator (dgibson@bu.edu or 638-7125) with any questions about this fellowship opportunity.
