Biomedical Laboratory and Clinical Sciences


This is the only undergraduate program at Boston University School of Medicine. It is a joint program with Metropolitan College.  The BLCS program prepares students for jobs and careers in the biomedical fields, including bench research and clinical research. Please visit the program at

There are a number of scholarships available, including scholarships for

  • parents who have children in the Boston or Chelsea Public Schools
  • community college graduates
  • BMC employees
  • adults returning to school
  • cancer patients and survivors


The BLCS program offers the B.S. degree (128 credits) and 16-credit Certificates in Biotechnology and Clinical Research. It is highly flexible, offering classes in the evening (5:30 pm) and Saturday mornings.
