Northeast Physician Scientist Student Symposium

This year, we will be hosting the Northeast Physician Scientist Student Symposium. This is a multi-institutional effort co-organized by BU, Tufts, Harvard/MIT, and UMass, to bring together students, trainees and faculty from the Northeast region medical schools to discuss career development and science as physician scientists. This event is a great opportunity to network and meet other MD/PhD’s in the area!

This year, we have invited Dr. Anthony Monaco, MD, PhD, the current President of Tufts University, as our keynote speaker. He is a distinguished neurogeneticist who first identified the gene in X-linked Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy, and went on to discover FOXP2, the first gene specifically involved in human speech and language.
We will also be featuring student talks, poster sessions, breakout sessions and a special discussion panel focused on the hiring process for physician scientists or residents looking to set up their own research infrastructure/labs.

When: Saturday December 7, 2019. From 10AM – 4PM

Where: Boston University School of Medicine, Hiebert Lounge
