Resident/Fellow & Student Research and Clinical Vignette Competition
If you have worked on a research project or have an interesting clinical case, submit your abstract for a chance to present it at the Massachusetts Chapter Meeting and automatic submission to the ACP IM Poster Competition. Separate poster competitions will be held for entries in the following categories:

The deadline to submit your abstract is 11:59 pm on Thursday, August 13, 2020.
How to Submit
All abstracts for submission must be approved by your Program/Clerkship Director and/or Faculty Advisor and can be submitted on the Massachusetts Chapter Abstract Form.
Abstracts will be judged by ACP members and chosen to participate in a virtual “MA ACP Poster Competition.”
The first place winning Resident abstracts in the Research and Clinical Vignette categories will be invited to present a pre-recorded oral presentation for the Chapter Meeting on Saturday, October 10, 2020 and will be automatically submitted to the ACP IM meeting poster competition. If the spring IM meeting is held in person, funding from the chapter will be provided to assist with travel and registration costs.
The first place winning Student abstracts in the Clinical Vignette and Research categories will be automatically submitted to the ACP IM meeting poster competition. If the spring IM meeting is held in person, funding from the chapter will be provided to assist with travel and registration costs.
Abstracts will be chosen in the Clinical Vignette and Research categories and will be invited to submit a voice over poster presentation which will be judged for prizes and will be viewed by attendees of the Chapter Annual Meeting on Saturday, October 10, 2020. Participants must be available to submit their poster and voice over presentation with a deadline of September 22nd.
To participate in the abstract competition the first author MUST be a current Resident/Fellow or Student Member of MA ACP, be enrolled in a Massachusetts Residency Program or Medical School and be able to submit your voice over presentation by September 22, 2020.

- There are two categories: Clinical Vignette and Research.
- First authors can only submit one abstract in each category. They may be second or third authors of other abstracts.
- SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Thursday, August 13, 2020 at 11:59 pm EST. No late submissions will be accepted.
- There is no fee for submitting an abstract. There will be a $25 fee for participating in the Poster Competition.
All novel resident or student directed research projects are welcome. All work must be completed while a resident for the resident competition or while a student for the student competition and you must be enrolled in a Massachusetts Medical School or a Massachusetts Residency Program. All submissions must be submitted on-line.
The abstract must be limited to 450 words. Do not include the title and authors in the abstract.
Submissions will be accepted until 11:59 pm on August 13th – no late submissions will be accepted!
All communication regarding the abstract competition will be sent electronically, so please make sure your submission e-mail is accurate.
Authors of abstracts selected for presentation will be notified the week of September 8, 2020.
