Clinician-Educator Track

We are thrilled to offer a formal clinician-educator track. Our fellows can participate in structured activities during their second year to guide them toward careers as educators. These activities include a formal curriculum with monthly interactive sessions.

Fellows also have the opportunity to teach students during pre-clinical years (as part of the introduction to clinical medicine course) and to teach students and residents during their rotations on the ID consultation service and the inpatient ID team. They will work with seasoned clinician-educators.

Scholarly Projects

• There is the opportunity to pursue a variety of scholarly projects with mentoring
• Types of projects include developing curricula and workshops (for residents, and students) that can lead to MedEd portal publications, QI projects related to education, and scholarly activities that result in peer-reviewed publications
• There are resources available for assistance with biostatistics as well as qualitative analyses
• Projects can be jointly developed with residents also working on curricula (e.g. LGBTQ, DEI, wellness curriculum committees).

Program Didactics

Second year fellows on this track have access to a core curriculum with lectures/workshops covering a broad range of topics together with other clinician educators across the institution. Fellows have a broad range of teaching opportunities during the second year of fellowship across the spectrum of medical education. In addition, fellows work with a faculty mentor to develop a scholarly project in medical education.
